TITLE: Child Nutrition Office Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Child Nutrition

 


JOB GOAL

To manage state and federal program compliance and provide technical support to Child Nutrition managers and staff.

           

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Child Nutrition office support staff.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Records and reconciles daily revenue and participation reports for federal reimbursement claim process.
  • Coordinates the collection and financial records of NSF checks between schools, Child Nutrition Department and Financial Department.
  • Enters expenditures into the computer reconciling batch sheets, computerized reports and purchase orders.
  • Mails/distributes vendor checks. Files documents as daily work is completed.
  • Trains and gives technical support to school cashiers.
  • Insures collection equipment is operable. Installs new hardware as needed, due to outdated or non-working equipment.
  • Coordinates software support to assist managers and cashiers with point of service software questions and computer hardware issues.
  • Works with parents, managers, and software company to insure timely application of online payments made to student meal accounts.
  • Verifies qualifications for completed Financial Hardship Waiver Forms and provides support information for school personnel and parents.
  • Updates Child Nutrition web site as needed and works with developers to have up-to-date information available.
  • Keeps absentee records and compiles absentee reports for all Child Nutrition personnel.
  • Assists Child Nutrition Administrative Assistant  and Coordinator as needed.
  • Provides field support for cafeteria managers.                 
  • Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the Director of Child Nutrition.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Five years work-related experience in office management. Proficient in current food industry technology

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma.

Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints. Demonstrates effective communication skills by speaking clearly and expressing ideas logically and giving clear, explicit explanations. Uses written communication appropriately and professionally.

 

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, bend and sometime lift up to 25 pounds.  Mobility skills are necessary to access a variety of work locations.

 

  • OTHER SKILLS

Must keep accurate, up-to-date records.
